Feng Shui in the Office

We spend most of our lives in the office. Take advantage of feng shui to accelerate your progress at work. Good feng shui in the office increases your chances of getting a raise, a promotion or a big bonus. Take care to make sure that there are no feng shui obstructions at work, which may be impeding your career development.

Your Office Desk

Your workstation should be at your personal auspicious direction in the office. Avoid sitting directly facing the main door, as the flow of chi will be too strong. Try to sit facing the main door but not directly facing the doors. Also try to avoid directly facing staircases, corridors and walkways.

Your office desk should be square or rectangular. Avoid irregular odd shapes. As much as possible, try to sit with your back facing a wall. Never sit with your back facing a window. If this is unavoidable, having a picture of a mountain behind you to ensure you receive good support at work.

Make sure your office desk is always neat and tidy. Avoid clutter, which can bring about the accumulation of bad chi. Keep your office equipments, like pen and pencils, well hidden.

Decorating your workplace.

Remove all sharp objects on top of your desk. Have a balance of yin and yang (light and dark colors). It would be beneficial to place a globe/round piece of crystal on your work desk (preferably amethyst or rose quartz) to ensure that everything goes on smoothly at work. Have a figurine of a rooster on your table to avoid gossips and office politics

If possible try to place a plant or aquarium in the east, north or southeast corner to activate your career luck. Do not use plants with sharp thorns or leafs. To be ahead at work and get ahead in your industry, place a dragon on the right hand of the desk facing the window.

The furniture in your office should be arranged to promote the flow of chi. Do not obstruct the entrance. The main door should be spacious and unrestricted.

FENG SHUI OFFICE – Part 2

In creating good feng shui in your office, you must observe the flow of chi. Here are more ways to create good feng shui for your career in your office.

1. It is great feng shui to sit facing the door of your office. The door is where the flow of chi enters your office and in this position, you will be able to benefit from the healthy flow of chi. Nevertheless you must never sit directly facing the office door. Here you will be in direct path of the incoming Chi. This can overwhelm you and cause frustration and stress for you.

2. When choosing your office chair, avoid heavily cushioned or plush comfy looking chairs. Such pieces of furniture is very ‘Yin’ (passive) and is more suited for the bedroom or the living room

3. Although keeping your table top neat is great feng shui, you must be careful not to overstuff your drawers and cabinets with too many junk and unused items. An accumulation of such hidden clutter will cause a build up of dead-chi which can be harmful for you.

4. Big windows are great for the office as the let in a lot of Yang energy into the room. If you office has one of these large windows, try not to sit too near it. Constant exposure to bright sunlight can lead to Yang energy overdose that leads to agitation and irritation among co-workers
